Health Services Lead Nurse - Addenda

This job reports to a district administrator designated by the Superintendent.
Essential Functions
The lead nurse of Health Services supervises the school nursing programs within the framework of established policies of Paradise Valley Unified School District.
Assists school nurses and administrators in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health program.
Assists school principals in the evaluation of school nurses.
Provides for ongoing in-service programs for district nurses and acts as a resource person for school nurses within the district.
Assists, or delegates, in the hiring, orientation, and training of new nurses and delegates and supervises the training of other health services personnel.
Provides input in the construction of health facilities in new schools, including standardized equipment and supplies.
Stays current and knowledgeable of all student health-related legislation and regulations to include issues related to medically fragile students.
Participates in developing and implementing health-related policies and procedures.
Maintains records of district health services activities and makes periodic reports to administrators.
Works cooperatively with state, county, and local agencies in providing services for Paradise Valley Unified School District students.
Develops and maintains health-related protocols.
Experience
Fours (4) years district experience, preferred.
Must hold a current license to practice professional nursing in Arizona.
Education:
Must have a Masters Degree in nursing or a health/education related field + RN
Equivalency:
Required Testing Certificates and Licenses
Possession of a current license to
practice as a Registered Nurse

Criminal Background Clearance
