Purpose Statement

The job of CE Distance Learning/LEL (Live Experiential Learning) Manager is done for the purpose/s of developing, promoting, and providing year round enrichment programs for students and diverse age groups in the community. This 12-month position coordinates academic, artistic, and athletic programs.

 

This job reports to the Director of Community Education.

 

Essential Functions

Creates and provides content and media (e.g. video, curriculum, creative materials, social media, etc.) for enrichment and distance learning programs for the purpose of offering classes for diverse age groups in the community, and for complying with district and/or grant/program requirements.

 

Utilizes web-related technologies for the purpose of supporting program content and media.

 

Supervises site coordinators, instructors, and support staff for the purpose of monitoring performance and achieving overall program objectives.

 

Collaborates with others (e.g. district personnel, vendors, community organizations, business partners, etc.) for the purpose of marketing, implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.

 

Establishes and maintains partnerships with businesses for the purpose of offering unique and educational programs.

 

Procures and maintains equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability for enrichment programs.

 

Creates and maintains a variety of manual and electronic files, registration information, and/or records (e.g. registration records for all enrichment programs, legal documents including RFPs, cooperative purchasing agreements and intergovernmental agreements, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.

 

Monitors and manages fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed.

 

Orients and trains enrichment instructors for the purpose of providing information on district policies.

 

Facilitates and participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars (e.g. staff training, program planning, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

 

Creates and prepares a variety of program materials (e.g. curriculum, flyers, catalogs, marketing materials, content for multiple websites supporting programs, etc.) for the purpose of program promotion, community engagement, and district branding.

 

Presents information to District and Community groups (e.g. program offerings, participation levels, etc.) for the purpose of promoting programs, gaining feedback, and complying with established internal controls.

 

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

 

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard and specialized office equipment including pertinent software applications; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records.

 

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform mathematical calculations using algebra, fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read

technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar and punctuation; appropriate codes, policies, regulations, and/or laws; grant administration; community resources; district policies and procedures; and medical/ behavioral district management strategies.

Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined processes; and operate equipment using specialized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives and frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; utilization of significant resources from other work units is routinely required to perform the job's functions. Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting,

20% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations.

 

 

Experience: Job related experience is required.

Education: Bachelors degree in job-related area preferred.
