Purpose Statement

The job of CE Multimedia Project Manager is done for the purpose of designing, producing, and preparing a variety of graphic and other printed materials; editing and proofing documents and promotional materials for professional presentations; updating and maintaining websites and online registration systems, and completing projects within established timelines.

This job reports to Director of Community Education.

 

Essential Functions

Advises site personnel and community clients for the purpose of providing information regarding formats, design, content, and purpose of graphic materials to be used.

 

Advises and recommends design and production requirements (e.g. media, layout, costs, etc.) for the purpose of meeting requester’s needs in the most cost effective and viable manner.

 

Designs and produces new content and revises existing content (e.g. promotional materials, annual publications, logos, newsletters, posters, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials for classes, courses, activities, and events run by Community Education.

 

Works collaboratively with the team to generate new and innovative ideas.

 

Edits and proofs graphic materials (e.g. cards, forms, legal contracts, guides, signs and printed materials, etc.) for the purpose of verifying the quality of work produced.

 

Performs modifications to electronically rework, assemble, create, and build various print projects for the purpose of meeting department needs.

 

Manages workflow processes within project management system for the purpose of providing complete and accurate documentation and audit trail for future needs and to ensure completion by deadline dates.

 

Produces a variety of materials (e.g. graphics, legal documents, and promotional displays for professional presentations, business ads, brochures, newsletters, guides, signs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials as needed.

 

Ensures accuracy in all content areas and maintains error-free documents.

 

Maintains high standards of design and stays current on graphic trends and industry best practices.

 

Executes department, district, and APA style standards consistently across all creative materials.

 

Creates impactful designs in accordance with established department and district brand guidelines for the purpose of communicating and showcasing the value of the PVSchools brand.

 

Successfully applies all brand and style guidelines as warranted based upon the needs of the project.

 

Conceptualizes and authors web content, taking into account intended use and audience for the purpose of promoting department activities, and recruitment and retention goals and objectives.

 

Oversees and maintains 3rd party vendor registration system and website (e.g. format, content, maintenance, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining current and accurate information.

 

Manages multiple projects at a time in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. 

 

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

 

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating a graphic computer, operating standard office equipment using pertinent software applications, including InDesign and other graphic design software; preparing and maintaining accurate records.

 

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: methods, techniques, and supplies used in art and reproduction processes; comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles, a wide variety of media, and publishing and graphic design software applications including Adobe Creative Suite; strong verbal, written, multimedia, creative, analytical problem solving, and interpersonal skills.

 

ABILITY is required to schedule activities; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

 

Experience: BA in Graphic Design; 3+ years experience in graphic design; proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; Mac proficient; HTML experience is a plus; strong command of design, typography, and conceptual skills.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
